COUNTER FLOW DIRECT IMPINGEMENT MULTI-TIER

 

With the rise in popularity of granola, sports and nutrition bars, the need has arisen for higher-heat-load cooling tunnels to handle these denser items — as well as traditional bakery and confectionery products.

With these and other challenges — like trans fat-free cookie fillings that melt at lower temperatures and require customized heat transfer rates — Schebler stepped up and delivered the answer.

Our signature Cooling Tunnels feature combinations of convection, conduction and radiation cooling, zone control features, and cooling capabilities up to 500,000 Btu/hr. Further, our unique collaboration with Iowa State University has resulted in a proprietary computer model for calculating precise heat transfer rates — meaning your product exits at its target temperature, faster, without over-buying equipment or wasting energy.

Cooling Tunnel Design & Specifications

  • Configuration: Inline, 3-, 5- or 7-tier
  • Air flow: Counter flow, parallel flow, vertical flow, direct nozzle impingement, dual impingement (NEW)
  • Belt widths: 16” to 60”
  • Tunnel lengths: Modular 8’ sections to any length
  • Insulation: Fully insulated enclosures, bottom panels
  • Cooling options: Zone control; chill plate
  • Cleaning: Stainless steel gull-wing doors w/gas cylinder activation for easy access (or removable panels on multi-tier models); optional clean-in-place (CIP)
  • Materials: All-stainless steel construction
  • Belting options: FDA-approved single or two-ply fabric; stainless steel wire; plastic modular
